How to report a bug

If you have basic installation problems, ask your problem first at http://groups.google.com/group/stupidgit and check the FAQ at http://wiki.github.com/gyim/stupidgit. Otherwise create a ticket for it, and your problem will be investigated soon.

How to request features

I have a long list about what I want to implement in the near future, and a short list about what I do NOT (http://wiki.github.com/gyim/stupidgit/roadmap ). If your feature request is listed in either of these lists, you do not need to submit a ticket: I will (or will never) implement this feature as soon as I can.

If your feature request is not included here, feel free to create a ticket for it, or, if it is a complex one, we can discuss it at http://groups.google.com/group/stupidgit.

How you can help development

Feel free to start working on any issue that are not assigned to anyone. However, probably the best way to help development is to:

  1. Fix minor bugs
  2. Help polishing the user interface (improve coloring, fix platform-specific issues, etc.)
  3. Implement a feature that is labeled with the "helpme" tag. These are issues that I am not likely to implement myself soon (such as creating an application icon), but which are quite important for the project.

When you're ready, just push the commit into GitHub, and send me a pull request.

Of course, you may also start working on a major feature that is not planned in the next release. In this case it would be the best if we discussed it in the mailing list.
